Rev. Fr. Vadana and the whole Parish team, I express my sincerest gratitude and thanks to you all for the wonderful arrangement of the picnic today. I had such a great time there with you all, such great fun and entertainment, besides the great meal together, that I will ever remember this day. Though I was reluctant to come for the picnic initially, because of my work-load of studies, I was there at the insistence of Fr. Vadana. As the sun has gone down, and as I am back at my working table I am filled with a sense of gratitude to God for the day and to all you there, on the stage and behind the curtain for making the day such a beautiful one, a really memorable one. Thank you Fr. Vadana for the invitation (in fact, more than an invitation – rather an earnest and forceful command). Mr. Anto and family (Mrs. Priya) were generous enough to give me a ride to the place and Mr. Jimmy and family (Mrs. Anu) were generous enough to drop me back. I sincerely thank them. I thank each and every one of you who were there to make the occasion such an enriching and enjoyable one – those who took care of such a delicious lunch, those who arranged all the fun-games as well as serious games, and those who supported all the events even through their silent support. It was a joy to see all the children, even the not so well ones like Sharlene, and the youth, and the youth at heart – those of my generation. It was a great day. Thank you – one and all. Kudos! Long live our friendship and our Christian community life! Yours in Christ, Fr. John Karuvelil, S.J.

St.Thomas Syro-Malabar Diocese of Chicago
The establishment of the Syro-Malabar diocese is a historical landmark in the history of the Syro-Malabar church. Until the establishment of this diocese, the Syro-Malabar church was confined to India only. The establishment of the diocese helped the immigrant Syro-Malabar Catholics to practice their rite in the U.S.A.
There are more than 100,000 Indian Catholics following this rite in U.S.A and Canada and the number is increasing on account of the immigration of professionals.
